At Bands Berlin, we often say that the magic happens when the music finally "clicks." But behind that magic is a mentor who knows exactly how to tune the room’s energy. Today, we’re sitting down with one of our core mentors to talk about his journey from a 5-year-old on the keyboard to becoming a pillar of the Berlin music scene.

From Pink Floyd in the Living Room to the Bass Guitar
Music was always "the language" in his childhood home. Growing up with a mix of Arabic music, Classical masterpieces, and the Rock’n’Roll staples of the 70s-Pink Floyd, Santana, and Dire Straits—it was only a matter of time before he picked up an instrument.
"I started with the organ at age five, tried guitar, but the turning point was when a friend’s brother gifted me a bass guitar. That changed my life," he recalls. By age 14, he had already formed his first high school band, and he hasn't stopped playing since.
A Life Built Around Sound
Ten years ago, he arrived in Berlin with a dream: to tour Europe and open his own studio. Today, he’s living that dream. When he’s not mentoring at Bands Berlin, he’s running his own recording and rehearsal studio, working as a mix engineer, or teaching drums to teenagers with special needs.
He stays active in the scene with two very different projects: Moriah Plaza (Latin Psychedelia) and Cherry Bandora (Mediterranean grooves). This diversity of styles—from Latin to Middle Eastern—is exactly what he brings to his sessions at Bands.
The Philosophy: "Mistakes are Part of the Music"
For many hobby players, the biggest hurdle is the fear of making a mistake in front of others. Our mentor’s approach is simple: Relax.
"The main challenge for hobby musicians is learning to communicate as a group. It’s not like playing alone at home-you have to listen, adapt, and feel each other. I’m not looking for perfection; mistakes happen, and that’s fine. I want people to feel safe, loose, and together. That’s how you build real musical confidence."
He believes that the best musical moments are born out of lightness, laughter, and even a bit of silliness. When the band is relaxed, the music follows.

Why Berlin? Why Bands?
Even after a decade in the city, he is still inspired by Berlin’s cultural richness. "It’s the perfect music city. Every night there are shows; every genre has a home. It’s a city that respects music in all its forms."
Within that vast scene, he sees Bands Berlin as the perfect entry point for anyone who wants to stop playing in their bedroom and start being part of a tribe."Go for it! It’s a chance to meet friends you might play with for years. In Bands, everything is taken care of-the matching, the studio, the gear. You just show up, play, and grow. It fills the heart and soul in a way that practicing alone never can."
Ready to find your "Zone"?
As our mentor says, there is no feeling quite like the moment a band enters the "zone" and everything just clicks. Whether you’ve been playing for years or you’re just dusting off your instrument, your spot in the studio is waiting.
Don’t wait for the "perfect time" to be perfect. Come as you are, meet musicians like you, and let us handle the rest.
