FAQs
Our initial preference is to play cover songs in original and challenging arrangements. The playlist is selected based on recommendations submitted by band members. However, we are always happy to explore your music interests, so - show us what you got!
We expect you to come to every rehearsal prepared, on time, and ready to contribute. Your band relies on consistency, attitude, and teamwork. When you show up knowing your parts and respecting everyone’s time, the band grows faster and the experience becomes way more fun for everyone. Apart from that, there are no complicated requirements. Bring your enthusiasm, be open to feedback, and enjoy making music with your group. That’s the whole point—have fun and let the music do its thing.
Each band has a rhythm section (drums, bass guitar), a melodic section (guitar, keyboard) and vocalists, but other instruments are welcome too!
We set the rehearsal schedule at the start of each cycle after placing you in a band. Each band gets a fixed day and time for rehearsals, which happen on weekdays (Monday to Friday). It’s all about making it easy for you to jam!
Our main goal is to get people playing together, so we match based on skill level and availability only.
We’ve found that while musical tastes can vary, the real reasons bands struggle to stay together are scheduling conflicts and gaps in playing ability. By focusing on these two practical pillars, we remove the hurdles that usually stop music from happening.
Once you’re in the studio with people who are at your level and share your schedule, the "style" becomes a creative journey you embark on together. With the help of our professional mentors, you’ll find common ground and build a repertoire that everyone is excited to play.

Finding people with the right skill level and a matching schedule is the number 1 reason bands never get started. We take that frustration off your plate. With years of experience forming well-balanced bands in Berlin, our matching process is designed to be clear, professional, and stress-free.
The Process:
The Studio Audition: It all starts with a relaxed, face-to-face session in our studio. You’ll meet the team, perform two songs, and get a real feel for the Bands atmosphere.
What to Play: You choose one song that reflects your style, and we’ll pick the second from our shortlist. During the session, we’ll guide you and assess your experience to find your perfect fit.
The Match: After the audition, we place you in a group that matches your specific level and weekly availability. No guesswork and no awkward trial sessions with strangers—just music.

For €140 per month (plus a one time €400 annual membership fee), you become part of a real band that rehearses together every week in professional studios across Berlin. Each band is guided by an experienced mentor during weekly 2 hour sessions focused on playing, improving, and creating music together.

Bands is more than music lessons. It’s a weekly musical home with the same people, the same studio, and the shared experience of building something together.
Bands' activity year runs between two festivals, with four entry points each quarter: January, March, June, and September. After the audition, once we inform you that you have been accepted, we will send you our members agreements outlining the terms of service. Once you sign, you will have a personal meeting with the mentor of the band you will be joining, where you will receive all relevant materials related to the activity.
Whether you join an existing band or a new one, you will be required to suggest at least two songs to add to the song list. You will also be added to a WhatsApp group for your band, as well as a community group where we provide updates and share information about all activities. Finally, you will receive the date of your first rehearsal with your band. Get ready to rock!
